What's up, metal thrashing maniacs?! Just a quick word to assure you that
Thanatos are far from being dead, buried and forgotten. The band members
are just extremely busy with all their other bands/projects right now;
Stephan and Paul have just finished recording the debut album of Hail of
Bullets, which will be out on Metal Blade Records around the end of May
2008, Paul has also joined the reformed Asphyx and Yuri and Marco have
just embarked on a major European tour with Melechesh, supporting
Immolation... we'll definitely try to focus on Thanatos again later this
year, but for now you'll have to settle for the odd live appearance like
the one we have planned in Dendermonde, Belgium on May 24th...

NEWS UPDATE August 2007
Unfortunately Thanatos will not play the
Southxtreemnoise Fest in Naples, Italy on August 4th.
Since the organiser/promotor all of a sudden can not live up to the
agreements made in the contract which was signed by both parties about 4
or 5 months ago (!), we decided it would be too much of a financial risk
to fly off to Naples next week...
We have definitely tried to make this work and even made
an offer to the organiser to send us 4 plane tickets instead of the 5
tickets both parties agreed upon in the signed contract, but with no
result.
We were really looking forward to play Naples but we've come across shit
like this once too often, and we decided not to work with people who start
nagging and backing out of agreements which were made and signed months
ago only 2 weeks before the actual show....
Sorry to everyone who wanted to see us over there! We hope to return to
Italy some other time..
Meanwhile we have uploaded two new songs on our MySpace page (www.myspace.com/thanatos666)
We still haven't found a label to release our new album which already has
been recorded, so to all record labels out there; wake up already!
HAIL OF BULLETS UPDATE!
Dan Swanö to produce H.O.B. demo!
Good news! Dan Swanö, known from
Edge Of Sanity, InfestDead and also Demiurg (Ed's other band) has agreed
to mix/produce the upcoming Hail Of Bullets demo/promo CD! The recordings
will take place in June/July and we hope to have it all finished before
the end of the Summer...
Thanatos-guitarists
Stephan Gebédi and Paul Baayens have joined forces with former Pestilence,
Asphyx-singer Martin Van Drunen, Gorefest-drummer Ed Warby and former
Houwitser bass player Theo van Eekelen! This new band is called HAIL OF
BULLETS. The band will record a three-track promo CD this Summer as their
first step to world domination! Well actually we’re simply going to crank
out some brutal old school death metal stuff, nothing more, nothing less,
but our goal is to record a classic death metal album in every possible
way. Hail Of Bullets has opened a MySpace-page:
www.myspace.com/hailoffuckenbullets and the official site
www.hailofbullets.com is still under construction. More news will
follow
In additional news,
Thanatos-guitarist Paul Baayens has joined forces with the revamped
Asphyx. The line up is completed by Martin van Drunen on vocals, Bob
Bagchus on drums and Wannes Gubbels on bass. The band will appear on
several (German) Summer Festivals in 2007.
In other news,
we’re still looking for a label to release the new Thanatos-album
‘Justified Genocide’ in 2007.
